Short post. Must say: I am impressed with US Airways, even if they wouldn't let me bring the harp (boohoo!!)
Trains + dog + luggage = recipe for chaos. Just sayin'. Thankfully, I was surrounded by very helpful people. Helpful people on trains, helpful people upon arrive here in Aber, helpful flatmates.
If only the stores didn't close and I could have bought sheets and towels. Sigh.
More later. Sleep now.

Well... the flight is supposed to be two days from now, and my visa still hasn't arrived. Ishbel's paperwork is all lined up - she just has to do a quick trip to the vet before leaving for tapeworm treatment (mandatory before import to the UK, regardless of the fact that she doesn't have tapeworms).
The nerves are getting the better of me. This is resulting in poor eating and sleeping, as well as inability to focus.
Ishbel is napping, as ever.

The Great Adventure Begins
In just one short month, Ishbel and I will be off on our grand adventure. We leave the not-so-small world of the DFW metroplex for a small town on the coast of Wales. Bags haven't even contemplated being packed yet, but most legal ducks are lined up in a pretty little row.
Follow us on our merry adventure - hopefully full of lots of language and culture learning, as well as pictures of Ishbel in various places around the British Isles.
I am a graduate student slash domestic goddess, from beautiful British Columbia by way of Dallas-Fort. Worth, going to Wales to work in Celtic Studies. Wish me luck, eh?

Here she is - prepared for rain!
A Little Background Info:
Ishbel is a Sheltie, and ridiculously adorable. She is much more photogenic than I am, which - combined with the fact that, as a human, I have the dexterity to work a camera where she doesn't - is why if pictures feature one of us it will likely be her.I am a graduate student slash domestic goddess, from beautiful British Columbia by way of Dallas-Fort.
